Verification policy

Declared owner

Every published review carries a declared-owner confirmation: the reviewer has self-certified that they own or have owned the car for at least six months. Declared owner is the single verification status used on the site.

What declared ownership means

Ownership is self-attested, not independently verified. We take the owner’s word for it and do not carry out external vehicle checks. We do not ask for vehicle registrations, keeper details, or ownership documents. The Declared owner status reflects the reviewer’s confirmation, not proof of vehicle ownership.

Ownership weighting

An owner’s tier and score weight are locked in when they submit their review, based on how long they’d owned the car at that moment. When an owner updates their review, the tier and weight are recalculated from their ownership length at that time and locked again — so a review’s weight only grows when its owner comes back to refresh it.

Genuine, non-incentivized reviews

At submission, every reviewer confirms their review reflects their own genuine experience and that they haven’t received payment, a discount, or any other incentive to write it. Zedevee does not run or permit incentivized review campaigns — owners write because they want to share what living with the car has actually been like, not because they were offered something in return.
