Terms of use
Zedevee exists so that real owners can tell other owners what living with an EV is actually like. These terms set out what we expect from you when you use the site, and what you can expect from us.
By creating an account, writing a review, or otherwise using Zedevee, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.
Who can use Zedevee
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or submit a review.
Each person may hold one Zedevee account. Your account is personal to you — please don’t share your login, and please keep your account details accurate. You’re responsible for anything that happens under your account, so let us know straight away if you think someone else has access to it.
Who can review, and what we expect from a review.
Reviews may only be submitted by people who have genuinely owned or run the car for at least six months — see our Verification policy for how we define a declared owner. Reviews that misrepresent ownership will be removed, and repeat or deliberate misrepresentation may lead to your account being suspended.
A review on Zedevee should reflect your own, honest, first-hand experience of owning the car. In particular:
- Don’t accept payment, discounts, free products, or any other incentive in exchange for writing a review, and don’t ask anyone else to do so on your behalf.
- Don’t write a review for a car you haven’t owned, on behalf of someone else, or using an account that isn’t yours.
- Don’t use your review to advertise, promote, or market a business, product, or service — including your own.
Reviews are opinions, not facts. Say what you genuinely think, but keep it about the car and your ownership experience rather than, for example, personal attacks on individuals.
One review per car model per owner — if you’ve owned more than one EV, you’re welcome to review each one. You can update your review at any time; see “Ownership tiers and your Owner score” below for what happens when you do.
Ownership tiers and your Owner score.
Owner scores are opinions of individual owners, weighted by how long they’d owned the car when they wrote or last updated their review — see our Verification policy for the full detail on how this works. Owner scores and tier badges aren’t professional advice, and shouldn’t be the only thing you rely on when buying a car.
When you update a review, your ownership tier and score weight are recalculated based on your ownership length at that time. Between updates, your tier and weight stay as they were when you last submitted or updated the review — they don’t change automatically just because time has passed.
Your content, and what we do with it.
You own the words, photos, and anything else you post in a review. By posting a review, you give Zedevee a licence to display it on the site, show it to other visitors, and use it to power features like Owner scores, ownership tiers, and car-level summaries. This licence lasts for as long as your review stays on the site. You’re responsible for making sure you have the right to post whatever you include in a review — for example, photos you’ve taken yourself. Please don’t post anyone else’s personal information without their permission.
Conduct we don’t allow.
Beyond the rules on genuine, honest reviews above, you agree not to:
- Post anything illegal, defamatory, hateful, or that infringes someone else’s rights.
- Harass, abuse, or threaten other users or the Zedevee team.
- Use automated tools, scraping, or data mining to copy or extract content from the site — including for the purpose of training AI models — without our permission.
- Try to interfere with how the site works, or attempt to access parts of it you’re not meant to.
Removing content or restricting accounts.
We may remove a review, edit a listing, or restrict or suspend an account where we reasonably believe these terms, our Verification policy, or the law have been broken. Where we can, we’ll try to let you know why. Repeated or serious breaches may result in your account being permanently suspended.
Deleting your account.
You can delete your account at any time from your account page. When you do, you’re signed out immediately, and your account enters a 30-day window during which signing back in will automatically cancel the deletion. After 30 days, deletion is permanent: your personal details are removed, and any reviews you’ve written are kept on the site but anonymised, shown as written by a “Former owner.” See our Privacy page for more detail on how we handle your data.
No warranty, and our liability to you.
Zedevee is provided as a resource to help you make more informed decisions — it isn’t professional, financial, or legal advice, and we can’t guarantee that any review, score, or tier is accurate, complete, or up to date, since this all depends on information provided by individual owners. To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of Zedevee or reliance on content on the site, beyond what the law requires us to accept. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that can’t legally be limited, such as liability for fraud.
Changes to these terms.
We may update these terms from time to time, for example as the site changes or the law requires. If we make a significant change, we’ll try to let registered users know. Continuing to use Zedevee after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any dispute will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales. If you’re a consumer living elsewhere in the UK, you may also be able to bring a claim in the courts of your own part of the UK.
